MS Tobacco Free Coalition Presents Gulf Coast High Year End Celebration

MS Tobacco-Free Coalition of Harrison County:

The Mississippi Tobacco-Free Coalition of Harrison County is hosting a year end extravaganza for students in Grades 9-12. This event is organized by teens for teens in educating them about the dangers of tobacco use.

The event will be held Saturday June 9th from 6-11pm at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, which is located at 2350 Beach Blvd Biloxi, MS.

The theme is white and neon colors. Attendees are asked to wear clothing that they do not mind being marked on.

The Harrison County Library System will host the 2012 Summer Reading Program:  “Dream Big, Read”.
Registration begins May 21st  at your local library.

The Orange Grove Public Library, Jerry Lawrence (D’Iberville) Public Library, Margaret Sherry Public Library, West Biloxi Public Library, Biloxi Public Library, Gulfport Public Library, Woolmarket Temporary Library, Pass Christian Public Library, and Saucier Children’s Library.

More than 900 graduates participate in MGCCC Centennial Commencement

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College:

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College held the Centennial Commencement Ceremony on May 10 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, marking the end of the college’s 100th year of serving students.  A total of 2,134 degrees were conferred, and more than 900 graduates participated in the ceremony.  Each graduate received an antique-gold medallion in commemoration of Gulf Coast’s 100-year anniversary.

Coral bells are perpetual favorites, and their colorful foliage can add interest and texture to any garden.

The first coral bells had green foliage, but these days, green foliage selections can be hard to find. New selections have purple, red, and white marbling and different colored venation. You will often see foliage colors of bright gold, orange and brown.
