Anglers bring your rods and reels over to one of the largest fishing rodeos in Hancock County. It's called the 2nd Annual WCA Bay-Waveland Fishing Rodeo. Prizes will be given to the person with the largest catch. And for those who aren't catching fish you can fish for fun with carnival rides and tasty bites.

Many gardeners try to give their landscape the feel of an informal cottage garden. This garden concept has a loose, flowing feel, kind of like you just let plants grow wherever they happen to pop up in the landscape.

I had a professor way back in college who had a unique cottage garden planting method: He would walk through the landscape and just toss plants over his shoulder. We planted them where they landed. And you know what? His gardens looked awfully good.

United Way Helps South MS Families Save $5 Million Free Income Tax Assistance Program

This tax season, United Way of South Mississippi (UWSM) helped return over $5 million dollars to South Mississippi families in tax refunds and related fees through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.  UWSM worked with local nonprofit partners to train and coordinate volunteers, who provided free tax help for households earning less than $50,000. In addition to free tax return preparation assistance, volunteers helped families understand and apply for applicable tax credits.
